Indoor Air Quality Evaluation
RocMar Environmental conducts indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations within various indoor environments, including offices, commercial structures, residential buildings, educational institutions, health care facilities and industrial facilities.
Indoor air quality is one of the most common sources of complaints in occupied buildings, which can also significantly impact occupant comfort, health, and productivity. We have the experience and tools to investigate air quality issues, whether they are related to mild pollutants or contaminants of concern.
Our investigative strategies are developed to provide accurate and reliable data, often in real-time, in a cost-effective manner. By using the most current industry techniques and technology, we focus on providing our clients with sensible recommendations.
Our team has significant experience performing IAQ investigations with varying levels of complexity and sensitivity. We can either work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team, which often includes health and safety managers, HR personnel, facility managers, insurance adjusters, engineers and contractors.
We are well equipped to resolve your IAQ needs through our experience in building science, ventilation systems, and occupational hygiene.
For non-specific concerns, we can perform a general investigation to evaluate overall air quality. Our team is equipped to perform short-term surveys and long-term monitoring for several IAQ contaminants and thermal comfort parameters, whether building-wide or confined to a few locations. Pending the outcome of a general investigation, we may continue with specialized testing.
RocMar Environmental can quickly develop a sampling protocol for any investigation. We can also mobilize quickly, often on short notice, to perform our site investigations and provide feedback within a reasonable timeframe. Some of the most common parameters specifically requested for monitoring include nicotine, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, humidity, volatile organic compounds, hydrogen gas, radon, particulates, mold, total bacteria, etc.
For Post-Disaster IAQs, whether a fire, flood, sewer backup or chemical spill, indoor air quality testing will help satisfy health and safety obligations and provide reassurances regarding the safety of the space re-occupancy or verification of abatement/remedial measures.
Understanding the complexity of disasters, pre-existing issues, and safety hazards is crucial in safely completing a post-disaster investigation and interpreting data objectively. With the experience of our team at RocMar, we can safely perform these investigations, often with short notice, to provide the reassurances or guidance needed for an unplanned misfortune.
